Our Founders

techServant, Inc. was founded in October, 2006 by John Bentley, II and John Bentley. Together, the two Johns have over 50 years of combined experience in Communications and Information Technology. John Bentley began his career with GTE as one of the first group of engineers to work in Digital Switching. After years of engeering voice traffic by hand, John Bentley began using the newly introduced IBM PC to automate this process. Over the rest of his traffic engineering career, John developed this process in a variety of languages and platforms, rolling it out across the company. Later, John moved from voice traffic to data, engeering Local Area and Wide Area Networks, and earning his BiCSI RCDD certification in cabling.

At the age of 10, John II learned basic computer programming from his father, John. From their, John II worked on a variety of systems and languages. John II began his career at IBM after his 1st semester in college, developing products at IBM while earning his degree. John II moved to consulting, encountering many different organizations and technology needs. Next, John II worked at Sprint managing development, technology selection, and managing IT business.

John and John II both moved from earlier careers to work in small businesses focused on medical services and propert management. During this tenure, John and John II had an opportunity to learn about Small Business first hand and how to apply technology lessons learned in larger organizations to meet Small Business needs and budgets. The Johns formed techServant, Inc. to apply the experience of careers in large Service Provider organizations and Small Business ownership to other Small and Medium-sized organizations.
